Get Started With Your Ledger Device

You’re just a few steps away from protecting your digital assets with industry-leading security. Follow this guided setup to activate your Ledger device, secure your recovery phrase, and start managing your crypto confidently.
1. Unbox Your Ledger Device
Make sure your box includes:
Your Ledger hardware wallet
USB cable
Recovery phrase sheets
Getting-started cards
If anything looks tampered with, stop and contact support.
2. Install Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the official app used to set up and manage your device.
Download Ledger Live:
Desktop: Windows, macOS, Linux
Mobile: iOS, Android
Once installed, launch the app and choose “Set up a new device.”
3. Initialize Your Device
Follow the on-screen instructions to:
Choose Set up as new device
Create and confirm your PIN code
Securely write down your 24-word recovery phrase
⚠️ Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Ledger will never ask for it.
4. Verify Your Recovery Phrase
Your device will prompt you to confirm several words from your 24-word phrase.
This step ensures that you’ve written it down correctly. Store it somewhere safe and offline.
5. Add Accounts
Open Ledger Live and:
Navigate to Accounts
Select your preferred cryptocurrency
Install the corresponding app on your device
Add your first account
6. Start Receiving Crypto
To receive funds:
Go to Receive in Ledger Live
Select your account
Verify the address on your device
Share the verified address only
Send or receive crypto with confidence
7. Stay Updated & Secure
Keep Ledger Live and your device firmware up to date
Use the device to verify every transaction
Beware of phishing—always check URLs and never enter your recovery phrase online
